Hey guys.
As some of you will  be aware, I decided to take a break from blogging. Primarily this was because I had a lot of assignments due, however, truthfully, I just wasn’t in the mood to blog. December, came around and whilst everyone was getting ready for blogmas, I took a back seat. Christmas isn’t my favourite time time of year, so instead of forcing myself to write loads of christmassy blog posts, I decided to give myself time off and in that time away I  went on a family holiday to Lanzarote.

Lanzarote, for those of you who don’t know, is situated in the canary islands, off the coast of Africa. Which means its super hot all year round, perfect for a winter holiday. I won’t lie and say the weather was great everyday, (it rained every now and then), but it was really nice just to get away from the drama back at home and relax for a week without having to worry about uni and upcoming exams.

When visiting Lanzarote we usually stay in a hotel called Barcelo Lanzarote (Which i highly recommend). However, this time around we stayed in an apartment complex, called Blue Sea Gardens, in Costa Teguise. It was a lovely little complex, however, it did cater more for older people and Spanish speakers.
The complex itself had plenty of things to keep you occupied, such as, table tennis, squash and pool tables for those would wanted to be active. But also a sauna, spa and massage area for those who wanted more of a relaxing break. There was also free wifi in the reception, which was a nice bonus.
There were two bars, one outside and one inside. For all inclusive guests there were plenty of drinks available, such as Tia Maria, sambuca, tequila, beer, vodka etc. I must say the barman made a cracking blue lagoon and he didn’t slack on the alcohol either.
The restaurant, admittedly was catered towards the Spanish guests, so for a fussy eater like me, it wasn’t great. However, that being said, there was a different selection of food on offer during lunch and dinner. They also did a really good homemade pizza one night and grilled chicken another. So it really was hit or miss.
The surrounding area
The complex itself was situated a short walk from a collection of shops and about a 15 minute walk into the main centre of Costa Teguise, this is where you can find the main beaches and shops. After not visiting the centre for a few years, it was nice to see that not much had changed and that all the pubs we used to love were their in their rightful spots. The area overall, is friendly and full of beautiful scenery’s, it does not disappoint.
I had such a great time and I didn’t want to come home. Lanzarote, is like a home from home and if you ever get the opportunity to go definitely do because it is honestly so beautiful.
