One of my favourite types of blog posts are when people share their unboxing experiences. Since i have been receiving glossy box for six months now i thought i would share my initial opinions of April’s box.
For those of you who are unaware of what Glossybox is, it is a monthly subscription service. You sign up on the Glossybox website, select you beauty preferences and then each month a beauty expert hand picks 5 products which are then delivered to your door. It is as simple as that.
Just to give to give you an idea of the things you could find in these boxes i will be telling you about what is in April’s box as well as letting you know my initial thoughts on each product.
So the box itself is a baby pink box with the logo printed on the top. .
Once you remove the lid you will find the products neatly wrapped in pink tissue paper and a black ribbon. (I have always been impressed with the presentation of this box, since sometimes monthly subscription boxes aren’t always the best presented and the items seem to just spill out. This is definitely not the case with glossybox.) As well as the neatly presented products, you are also given a piece of card with a message from the director and a sort of ‘menu’ which tells you how much each item is and what they claim to do.
So inside April’s box is:
The first thing i was initially intrigued about, was the Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle mist. (Which is mouthful to say.) This product claims to dry varnish within 2-3 seconds. This for me sounds very interesting. One of the main reasons i rarely paint my nails is because i am not patient enough to sit and wait for them to dry. So the idea of being able to dry my nails within seconds is really exciting.
I was also very impressed by studio 10. After being really impressed by the look of the brow liner, i checked out their website and it turns out the company are supporting the charity’ Look Good Feel Better’. This is a cancer charity which provides services for those who are suffering visible side effects of cancer. I just think it’s really refreshing to see Glossybox promoting a company that are giving back to the community in such a lovely way. So if you have definitely check their website out and have a look at the products on sale.
I am also looking forward to trying out the Body Shop Facial Oil. I have heard a lot of good things about this product, however, due to the price tag i have never really looked into purchasing it, so this for me is a good opportunity to try it out and see what i think.
The only downside to this months beauty box, in my opinion would be the Bronzing Mosaic. Initially when i saw it i was really excited by it, it came across as a lovely pigmented colour, however, when swatching it, it comes out very orange and shimmery and this isn’t something i think would compliment the makeup looks i go for. I am very much into matte colours. I very rarely touch shimmer, unless it’s on the eye, so personally i don’t think this products for me.
The only other product i would say i’m not really a fan of or interested in, would be the henna tattoo’s, because i just really don’t see the point of them, however, saying that, i am quite interested as to how they would look after a holiday away. I think the white floral design would look really flattering on tanned skin. So maybe after trying them out i will be swayed towards them.
So there you go.
These are my initials thoughts on this months Glossybox, however, if you would like me to do an in depth review on any of the products above then or you would like me to do a post on my favourite items i have received from Glossybox so far these are definitely things i would consider, so let me know.
Well I hope this has given you some sort of an insight into the things you can receive in beauty boxes and maybe even persuade you to purchase your own.
