I never really used to wear lipsticks, i was more of a natural lip girl. I focused on bronzing my cheeks and adding a touch of mascara to my lashes. However, over the past year i have become more and more interested in makeup, in particular lipsticks. It all started when i walked into a MAC store and one of the makeup artists stopped me and asked if i’d like to try one of the new shades, which she thought would suit me. I instantly fell in love and since then i have been addicted to trying new lipsticks.
So here are my current top 5:
MAC Creme Sheen in the shade Nippon
Firstly we have this gorgeous sheen colour from MAC. Usually i’m not a massive fan of the sheen lipsticks, however, i think this is a beautiful colour, perfect for spring. It’s quite a subtle colour on the lips, which is ideal for everyday wear, however, it gives a nice flush of pink, which i really think helps to brighten up any makeup look. It’s very pigmented, stays on well throughout the day and it feels really moisturising on the lips.
Rimmel 058 Drop of Sherry
Next we have a more affordable lipstick from Rimmel. The first thing i want to point out about this product, is it smells amazing. Literally to me this lipstick smells like watermelons, every time you re-apply you can just smell it and its so nice. If i am honest the smell is probably the main reason i love this lipstick so much.  The lipstick itself is a berry toned lipstick again with shimmer running throughout. I mainly wear this lip colour on a night out when i want to stray away from my normal MAC Red. The pigment is strong, its very moisturising, however, you do need to apply it more often then some other lipsticks.
L’oreal Color Riche Eva’s Nude
Next we have Eva’s Nude. For so long i was searching for the perfect nude shade. It seemed to me that i would pick up so many and they would either wash me out or be too dark for what i wanted a nude to be. Then one day i went into boots and spoke to the lady on the L’Oreal counter and asked her what nude she recommend for me. The lady sat me down, tried different ones on and i picked out this what. It’s such a lovely nude shade, with a corally undertone which suits me skin tone perfectly. It’s a bit more drying on the lips, so i usually pop a little Vaseline before hand and add some gloss over the top.
Kiko Milano 934
Kiko is a brand that’s becoming more and more popular in the UK, so i really wanted to try out their lip products. I especially wanted a berry toned lipstick so i picked up this one, which on the website is called wine. At £3.90 i wasn’t expecting it to be amazing, however, i absolutely love it, it’s so soft and moisturising, the colour is a perfect darker berry tone, which is ideal for a night out. I’d say the only issue with it is this colour can be quite patchy so you have to apply a few layers. But apart from that i am excited to try more kiko products in the future.
MAC Matte Mehr
Finally with have MACs Mehr, which is probably my favourite of the five. Its a dusty rose mauvey pink colour. It just looks so beautiful on, perfect for day time wear and night time wear paired with a dark mokey eye. It’s super moisturising for a Matte product and it has made me love matte lips so much. It is a perfect shade for spring, super pigmented and i will definitely be replacing it when i run out.
So they are my current top 5 lipsticks. I would love to try some more lipsticks, especially keen on finding some nice purple and brown shades. Let me know your favourite lipsticks in the comments, i would love to read.
Thanks Dion xo
