Hey Guys, firstly I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. I can’t believe we are four days into the new year already, I must say I am feeling very optimistic and positive about this year. Last year was a year of change, challenges and realisations, which is why I want to make this year as good as possible.
Every year I set myself, goals and resolutions for the year ahead, whether these be big goals that I can slowly work towards or little things I can implement into daily life. This year was no exception, so today I thought I would share them with you, in the hope that it may too inspire you to set a few goals for 2017.
Learn the Piano. I began teaching myself a few years ago on an old electric keyboard, however, it broke and so I stopped learning. I would really like to get back to learning it and also start singing more openly.
Try new foods. Last year I tried a lot of new foods, however, I am still a very fussy eater. This year I would like to challenge myself to learn how to cook different meals and experiment with flavours.
Spend less time on social media. I think this one is quite self explanatory. I spend far too much time aimlessly scrolling and I want to spend this time more productively instead.
Exercise more. Last year I quit dance and became very lazy. So this year I would really like to start running again, starting off with a 10-30 minute run every week. I also want to purchase some workout DVDs and start out doing weekly workouts.
Continue to Learn French. Towards the end of 2016 I started using the app Duolingo. It’s a quick and interactive way to learn a new language. If you haven’t checked it out and were thinking of learning a new language, I recommend you check it out.
Say yes more. I want to say yes to more things this year and challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone in the hope that I can get a hold on my anxiety.
Read a book once a month and review it. When I was younger I used to read 1-2 books a week, if not more, however, over the years I have stopped reading. Whilst in Lanzarote, I found the time to read not one but five books and I forgot how enjoyable it can be to read a good book. This year I vow to read more.
Blog more. Towards the end of the year I neglected my blog a little, I want to blog more, improve my photography skills and overall presentation of my blog.
Make more of an effort to attend lectures. I will admit that last semester I missed a lot of lectures, whether this was because I was ill or too stressed and anxious. However, this semester I want to push myself to attend more lectures no matter how bad I feel.

Although, I may not achieve all of these, I think it’s nice to jot down any goals or resolutions you may have for the year ahead, it helps you keep track on any progress made throughout the year. So what are you new years resolutions or goals for the year?
