Hey Guys, I hope you are well. Since we are two weeks into the new year, I thought now would be a good idea to show you my bullet journal setup for January and a few of the different features I like to include.
Over the years I have invested in a lot of different planners to try and keep organised, however, after about a week or two of using them they seem to get thrown aside. If you are someone who is the same, I highly recommend you invest in a Bullet Journal. There are no restrictions in what you can use them for.
As you can see, I chose a pink A5 leuchtturm1917 which you can purchase here. Instead of being lined or squared, the pages have little dots, which makes it so easy to draw diagrams. It’s the perfect size for travel and day to day usage.
I start each new year with an overall future log, as you can see above. In each square I set out a mini calendar. I then circle or shade in the important dates and write a little note to remind myself of the future event. This log is super helpful because it gives me a quick over view on important dates any deadlines I need to remember.
To prepare myself for the new year, I write out any goals I may have for 2017 and any highlights from the previous year. I then like to set out an overall log for the upcoming month. For January I have also included a space to jot any important events or goals for the upcoming month.
At the end of each week, I layout my weekly spread for the week ahead. As you can see, I have chosen smaller spacing for Monday, Tuesday and Sunday, this is because I do the most Wednesday-Saturday, due to university. However, I am planning to change this layout over time. I also Include a notes section to jot down any important things to remember. The bars you can see at the top of each section, are the times of day, blue highlight means sleep and colour means I am busy during this time. This helps me to map out how much free time I have.
As well as the standard layouts, I also like to use different types of trackers. The TV series tracker as seen above is something I have newly included, where as the January Habit tracker is something I have included every month since beginning this journal. It helps me keep track of any habits of mine and shows me where I need to improve such as, drinking 5 glasses of water.
This tracker is similar to the habit tracker, however, it focuses on my new years resolutions, it helps me keep track on which goals and resolutions I am working at and which may need extra work, such as learning to play the piano or learning French.
There are many different things you can use a bullet journal for, you could use it to store recipes, track the weather, plan our blog posts which is what is hidden under the yellow paper in the above picture, etc. It really is open to anything.
Do any of you have bullet journals? Share your links in the comments below to any bullet journal related posts. I would love to read them.
